STELLAR AIRPARK ESTATES
an Arizona airpark-in-the-city
Most residential airparks are built in rural areas. It is wonderful if you fly everywhere, but can get tedious for car commuters. The people behind Stellar Airpark Estates have created the best of both worlds: an airpark in the heart of Chandler, Arizona.
Stellar Airpark Estates is a 50-acre community and the brain-child of developer and pilot Jeffrey Mark, of Mark-Taylor Residential, Inc. Built adjacent to existing Stellar Airport, Mark describes it as "A pilot's dream."
Construction of streets, taxiways, sidewalks, landscaping and utilities began in November. Twenty-one luxury homes are going up now.
Each home site has been designed for a private hangar in the rear of the lot with taxiway access. Taxiway entries are gated and operated by an electronic opener, giving residents 24-hour access to Stellar Airport's 4,000-foot paved and lighted runway.
